So near yet so Far …

June 11th, 2008 by jhunpanlaqui

I don’t know what kind of attitude would you throw if your almost in the brick of finishing the race and then just because of a slight disappointing circumstances you lost the chance of winning before your very eyes …

Few weeks ago, everyone in Manaco was surprised of what could have been a championship points for a rookie F1 team Force India. Adrian Sutil the driver of Force India is running perfectly on the 4th place almost the whole race, he is fighting with the two power house Ferrari’s. He prooved the possibility of scoring championship points for a car that is not even a midfield. At lap 67 of 78, a heart broken moment happened. Adrian Sutil was hit from behind by Kimi Raikkonen. The Finn ran into the VJM01 that had kept him at bay for so long, puncturing the rear tyre and damaging the rear suspension. Adrian returned to the pits to retire from his finest race performance to date. According to the investigation it was an accident. Kimi tried his best to avoid Adrian’s car apparently, the brake of the Ferrari car did not performed as expected to be. It was a devastating moment for Adrian. I saw him in the pit crying in anguish.

Also, in the same week…the celebrated Indy Car driver Danica Patrick suffered almost the same incident as Adrian Sutil experience. In her race at Indianapolis 500 her fellow driver Ryan Briscoe hit her car from the side going out the pit lane. It was a 92nd lap of 500 when the incident happened. Here it’s different, it was not an accident but a stupid mistake of Ryan Briscoe. Unaware Patrick was after his head and then just took off and the next thing they knew both of them retire from the race which made Danica furious.

New Season of Formula 1…Better than ever?

March 17th, 2008 by jhunpanlaqui

New Colors

Last sunday is the first debut of the 2008 season of one of my favorite sports show. Surprisingly, the result of the race day is indeed a quick turn of the shaft. New colors went up to the podium to get the top 2 and 3 slot. This proves that more and more formula 1 drivers are stepping up to get atleast the experience of popping up the champagne infront of the crowd. The question now is, will there
be a consistency on their performance or this is just a one shot popping deal?

New Circuit

Another southeast asian country will be included in the list of this sophisticated motor racing as a new venue for Formula 1 Grand Prix. The first SingTel Singapore GP will unveil its class this coming
September. What makes this circuit unique is that, the circuit is actually a public road around their bay area converted to a race track using the highly standard of FIA. So, technically this is a street racing first in Asia and One of three races that will run anticlockwise. The 5.067 km long cicuit offers multiple ovetaking opportunities as well as fast and challenging turns.

New Team

I can say that having a flag like India being waved in the Formula 1 arena is a major breakthrough and a milestone that one elite motor racing community could be proud of. It may not be a home grown
team because practically it’s a former Spyker F1 but the fact that a country with a economic status similar to my country could afford to join is already a big accomplishment. And don’t forget that in 2010, India is looking forward to host their first ever Indian Grand Prix.

Having said that, all the fresh developments specially introducing new flags in the crowd makes the entire season 2008 better than ever!

Try Luck…

geez…for the past months most of what i expect didn’t make the cut.

if I felt bad for it what more to these guys. Like the New
England Patriots. It’s indeed hard for them to accept that after being undefeated for the entire season and even broke the record in NFL history for the most number of wins and having MVP Quarter back
on their team did not guaranteed them to have the Vince Lombardi trophy after the superbowl. The analysis even favored them that they will walkout the stadium winning double digits versus the Giants but as you know the story became different.

Now, if that is tough to realize then how would you feel if you are the number 1 in the world having 12 grand slam in major tennis tournaments written in your name, only to find yourself not being qualified in the finals because you were defeated by the number 3.

I guess losing is real and defeat is true no matter who you are no matter what you are.

Working hard maybe the ticket to kick some ass but sometimes it takes a luck to win the grand prize.

2007 F1 Closing

October 29th, 2007 by jhunpanlaqui

Who would have thought…that a rookie will dominate the entire season

Who would have thought…that a 2 time world champion came behind to his rookie partner

Who would have thought…that after being trailing down to 3rd and 4th place he will came out as a winner in the end

Talking about impossibility…I think this season is the most colorful, exciting and unimaginable F1 season of all. To tell you the truth, my face is glued in my television for almost 2 hours during the last race at Sao Paulo, Brazil. Waiting for the last minute who will came out dancing the hot samba. Ofcourse, you know who’s my bet but I was just thrilled by the twist and turns of events. I myself never thought that this boring season which my impression prior to the start will turn out to be a 4 way battle. As Kimi says, "…my heart nearly went into flames due to happiness! This is it: now we’re world champions!". In this manner, I’m happy for them.

Now, for the next months to come I’m baffled what color my idol will wear. But if there’s anything I’m sure about…it’s not definitely red or silver anymore.

See you in 2008 season!

F1 after Schumi

October 3rd, 2007 by jhunpanlaqui

When Michael retired last season, I thought F1 will turn out as another race show. Uninteresting one I suppose because I can see already how his arch rival Fernando Alonso will dominate the whole 2007 season. Michael Schumacher known as "Schumi" became an institution to F1 GP world. A seventh time world champion and considered as the most successful F1 driver by far.

But I was wrong, even the whole world was surprised of what happened for the past GP of this season. All the F1 fanatic didn’t expect how this season will turn out. It became a competition of not only 2 rivals but 4! And what makes it interesting is that, a new comer is the one leading the championship points! How’s that huh?!

I admit that I’m a Fernando fan but seeing his British rookie teammate Hamilton making waves upon waves and becoming the crowd favorites makes my Sunday afternoon more thrilling. Plus ofcourse, the two Ferrari’s. Now, the season is almost over with 2 more races to go and the top 4 drivers minus one are at stake for the crown.

I’m overly excited of what’s gonna happen. I don’t know if this will  be a grand slam for Fernando, a first time for Kimi or a history for Hamilton.

The Big Daddy

August 11th, 2007 by jhunpanlaqui

Erik Weihenmayer is the only blind man in history to reach the summit of the world’s highest peak on May 25, 2001…the feared Mt. Everest. His team call it the "Big Daddy". Erik’s willingness and persisting attitute made him accomplished his ultimate goal and inspired
blind people all over the world to carry the belief that, "No man in this world can stop reaching our dreams".

I never knew this guy actually till I came across his film "Farther than the Eye Can See". It’s an emotional film that open your eyes to think that a goal is there to achieve no matter who you are and what you are. A story of dedication not only to yourself but to others as well. Helping each other to be on top of every game. And that’s how Erick made it…not only because of
his own works but a lot of people who’s there for him…to make things happen.

There’s a bunch of Erik out there, it maybe blind or not, rich or poor but thriving to do something they call
"mission" and they need people like you or me to make it happen and proove to the world that they
can overcome their "Big Daddy".

Die Hard 4.0

July 28th, 2007 by jhunpanlaqui

If there’s any type of movie that I will not definitely gonna miss watching are those films related to computer. I’m an IT guy afterall. Whenever I watched these kind of shows I felt so differently. It’s a feeling that I wanna be like them (computer geeks/wizards)…for me they are invincible. They move without being seen. Going in and out w/out being notice. They are like spirit…passing through the walls.

The first movie I saw related to computer is the "Pirates of the Silicon Valley". This narrates how the
super giant software company Microsoft started. After this, is the breathtaking movie "The Net" role played by my favorite hollywood actress Sandra Bullock as a software programmer who accidentally access
some mainframe of a syndicate. Then work her way out to regain her stolen identity and punish the perpetrators.

Next is, "The Core" wherein they showed how the internet or the world wide web can be hacked. I don’t know how this is possible because I cannot imagine the fact that you can actually crack your way in to control the entire world network. It seems like so impossible but long before it was already done by some super geniuses guys. They hack and download the world wide web and became billionaires. Believe it!
Then the popular "Swordfish" movie came out to the market. A classic way of stealing some billions
of dollars from a dormant account using wire transfer manipulated by worm. Go get it!

Next is, "Antitrust"  this movie tells a very good lesson to every IT people…that knowledge is for all. Must not be kept it must be open for sharing. I know a lot
of companies will not agree on this. But you can’t blame those idealist. Now, the movie "Firewall" gives more lesson to IT Guys whose job is to secure
the IT infrastracture of their company. In this movie they introduce different kinds of hacking.
Social hacking, dumpsdiver hacking and ofcourse the classic computer hacking. Your IT core maybe
solid but how well are you in talking to people. Learn from it guys!

The last movie I checkout related to computer is the title of my blog today ("Die Hard 4.0")
This movie is the mother of all the movies I’ve mentioned awhile ago. You can find here all sorts of intruding techniques from algorithms to frequency intruding.
But those hacking things are just the tip of the iceberg. The real score in this movie in which it was never been seen to others is the principle "Fire cell" they
introduced. I don’t know if you gonna buy this things but I tell you it’s scary. A three staged attack to take down the transport, communication and utilites which keep a country up and running.

All those effort done by human after so many many years of research and development to achieve unimaginable things will be gone in seconds. Imagine going back to stone age…

to sum it all…computers were invented as one proof that humans are the highest form of creature here on earth done by God but it also prooved that we can be the lowest just because of "GREED".

Of Security and Classified

July 24th, 2007 by jhunpanlaqui

My friend asked me "dude! why classified?" I just simply answered him back "why not?". I’m an IT guy, I know how the information is vital and crucial and can be use as a liquid explosive in a bottle. Just a right volume and doing some mixing… boom!!!… there you goes …you inner core the thing you kept for a gazillion years are now available in your neighborhood. For me there’s nothing terrifying than an idea of how much a certain person knows about your damn life. He knows who the hell you are, what you eat, what you do, who you work for, what time you hit the sack etc etc… Nothing scarier than this I think and what makes it more frightening is that you don’t know who these people are. It’s like an eye watching in the dark. They can write pages and pages of your autobiography but you don’t know a single word or even a letter about them. Creepy isn’t it?

here are some tips I’ve learned for the past decades of how you secure myself:

1. when you forward an email to others don’t include all the email addresses. always use bcc:

why? people who wants to track you can simply send messages to the email address included in the forward email and simply ask about you.

2. don’t use your email address password to other login account

eg. yahoo email: xxx@yahoo.com password: xxx

bpiexpressonline acct: xxx@yahoo.com passwrod: yyy

3. always use strong password. Meaning, the password is atleast 7 characters long alphanumeric if possible with symbols and characters and change it every 30 days.

4. don’t give out information to people you don’t know specially over the phone. these guys are so nosy about info they pretend to be credit card agents or some company who is interested to get your service. be smart don’t give them an inch orelse they will eat you up and throw you in the road naked. this process is called "social engineering" and these guys are known as "social hackers". So when someone asking and talking too much just put down the phone. It’s better that you have a caller id for you to track their numbers and report to you friendly neighborhood cop or spiderman.

5. when you throw some documents in the garbage can whether it’s a receipts, atm slip, old bank records that you kept since you were born, credit card transactions, pay slip, contracts etc etc .. always tear the paper bit by bit up to the point that you can’t tear it anymore. Shredder machine is not reliable in tearing down the paper. Did you know that there are people who invest so much time and effort in putting those shred papers together just to get some damn info about you? these guys are dumpsdiver. They are also part in the circle of hackers.

6. if you are a chatter like myself don’t give out immediately your profile page or send pictures to your hot chatmate that you thought. so in otherwords, this includes your cute friendster that you are proud of. Remember friendster are exclusively for friends. Be wise you don’t even know if the acct he/she give is true or not so why care in giving yours. Maybe later.

7. always sign off when your done to every page that you log in. this will reset the cookies of the page. remember, if you unlock something you must lock it again.

8. get a reliable but cheap virus/spam/worm scanner and remover software. ofcourse make it updated everyday. what’s the use of sophisticated software if it’s database is empty. right? damn straight

9. don’t ever entertained any mysterious, unsolicited, too good to be true messages whether from email or text message or personal. You don’t know how this guys operate. they may just trying their luck to get into to you.

10. all private and confidential documents must have a password. please research how to put a password in all office programs like word and excel and remember to apply item#3 in creating a password. because there’s a lot of software programs nowadays that can crack office programs password. but if you have a strong password this will take a time in hacking down your key. so next time when some smart ass snoopy dog wants to snoop about your paycheck, sex life or your plans atleast he’ll be surprise with some challenges in opening your file. he can bark but he can’t bite. how’s that?

and remember, to have peace is to have a good security.

adios…

Training Day

July 20th, 2007 by jhunpanlaqui

In the military or in basketball all rookies will have their training day of their own as a full pledge guy. They will learn how to breath, eat, talk, move and dress like some general or basketball star. Everything they will do  are design and program for them to be the best and later on be a legend. I guess the same goes in blogging. There are rules…do’s and dont’s…of laying your cards in this new dimension world of journalism. Yes indeed it’s a freeworld…but how free
it can be? I don’t like the idea of being busted by some cops or being interrogated by some feebies or feds abroad because of my big mouth just trying to make a name on this medium and
enjoying the labelled "cyberJ". If that would be my fate in expressing my ideas and principles in this so called diplomatic world then I will immediately put a period on this. I’m not a leftist, terrorist or ego maniac who wants to proove something.
I’m just some classified person who wants to talk to you…and I hope that the purpose will be serve.

till next time…

Adios…amigos and amigas…

First Time

July 19th, 2007 by jhunpanlaqui

There’s always a first time in everything…and I say I’m a novice here. A rookie shall we call it. But every first timer do have certain motives in doing stuff…maybe they are curious…wants an adventure I don’t know…or doing it for a purpose. As for me, I don’t know yet…it may just for fun or going with the flow but I know as I continue on this everyday it will eventually serve some purpose to readers…and I hope it will.

Let’s see… As for the meantime…Adios…
